I started out at age 12 playing the bass guitar, taking lessons from an amazing bass player by the name of Christopher Maloney. Unfortunately at the time, I had a very closed mind about the music I wanted to be playing, which was pretty much just funk. I spent a few years in and out of bands with all the guys in town that played instruments, and non of them ever seemed really serious to me, not to mention, none of them tested my abilities as they were all pop-punk want to be sell out bands. :)
After 5 years of playing the bass, I decided my true passion was for singing, so at around 17 when I was fully obsessed with bands like Glassjaw, I decided I was ready to go for it. So I started a band called AVARICE. We played our first show on January 10th 2002 at the Whiskey A Go-Go in West Hollywood. The feeling grabbed me even more, pressing it in to my mind that this was what I was put on earth to do... my voice just needed to catch up to my desire :)
From there AVARICE went on playing as many shows as they could, went through a few member changes, and eventually we got signed to a really shitty indie label called Mediaskare, and picked up a deal with an even worse manager, whom I wont name, just because I know he would love to see his name here.
After two US tours, our van and trailer were stolen with all of our gear one night in Alabama, and this caused a lot of problems between us and our label, and just between us. Eventually, I was pretty much kicked out, after I found out that they had been auditioning singers behind my back.
Im now looking to form a new group of talented musicians, whom are ready and willing to get their butts in a van and tour the country making good music, and good friendships!
At this point in my life, i run a small promotional company out of my house in Wetlake Village, and its doing fairly well!
