yoo, my name is andrew, and this is one of my solo projects. there is not much to know about me other than the fact that I absolutely adore ducks, make fair trade lotion for a living, and will enjoy myself playing just about any kind of music. on top of performing and recording under this moniker, I've also been involved with a number of other projects, including ars poetria (percussion + vocals), spoken arms (bass + guitar + drums + vocals), tongues n' teeth (vocals + guitar + audio manipulation), with leaves (sequencing + sample collecting), bizzart (percussion + vocals), lowly lisa and the rollie pollies (percussion), disfigurine (bass), and a mysterious project set to debut in 2008 callled the super lites (bass). I'm an active member of the amar collective, an LA-based coalition of artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, spoken word poets, artisans and activists. amar holds events in LA on a more or less weekly basis. Unfortunately, I don't really put as much time into making music as I should (and in my opinion it sort of shows), but someday soon I plan on putting together a complete finished product that I'm really down with. If I eventually come up with an album's worth of material, all of the proceeds from sales will go towards funding my friends' various endeavors in art/activism. Since sometime around the beginning of 2006, my friends and I started working towards establishing a community that is evenly balanced in the collective desire for artistic expression and the need to develop cultural awareness and political consciousness. Our community is called the amar collective, which I've mentioned earlier in the bio. So far we've had a funky ass good time and I've met some freakin' awesome people. If I can make music that is decent enough to raise a few bucks for putting together shows, flyering, printing demos, hiring fire-eaters, etc., then I'm a happy camper.
If anyone in the Los Angeles area is willing to collaborate, I'm open. If you do electronic music, I'm down. If you do jazz, I'm down. If you do over-the-top scandinavian death metal, I'm down.
